Here at 1st Direct Pools, we have a range of products required for closing your swimming pool for the winter! This is an essential task for pool owners in the UK due to the harsh and colder temperatures and will help reduce the risk of algae build up.
Winterising your pool will minimise the risk of contamination. It will also help protect any cold-sensitive components such as the pipes from damage, which will save you time, money and frustration when it comes to re-opening your pool for summer!
A few stages must be followed to winterise your pool. Firstly, you must prepare by gathering the swimming pool chemicals that are required for the process. A deep clean of the pool is needed; this can begin with a brush around the wall and floor surfaces. The next task is to remove the dirt from the bottom; a pool vacuum can be used to help with this.
The pool chemicals can then be deposited. Once the pool water has been chemically balanced, you should clean your pool pumps and filters.
