Maintaining a clean and hygienic hot tub ensures a safe and enjoyable bathing experience for you and your loved ones. Like hot tub chlorine, bromine is a popular water sanitiser that’ll help keep your tub in good condition.
Bromine is often touted as an alternative to the better-known chlorine. While neither is necessarily more effective or ‘better’ than the other, bromine may be preferable as it can be gentler on sensitive skin and doesn’t have the strong smell associated with chlorine. Bromine can also be a good choice for hot tubs as it remains effective in higher temperatures than chlorine.
We stock quality hot tub bromine in both tablet and granule form, ideal for all hot tub owners and preferences.
Bromine tablets offer an easy and convenient water treatment method. They should be used in a floating dispenser as they’ll slowly dissolve into your water, helping maintain consistent bromine levels over longer periods. This method makes adding the dose of hot tub chemicals to your spa very straightforward.
Or, you may prefer to use bromine granules. Granules tend to have a relatively neutral pH when compared to tablets, so they won’t alter your water's chemistry or prompt you to rebalance it like you might have to with tablets. Bromine granules are fast-acting and ideal for tackling algae or unsanitised hot tub water.
As chlorine is so widely used, it can be difficult to know if an alternative would suit you better. Ultimately, whether you use bromine or chlorine will come down to personal preference – they will both do a good job of keeping your hot tub clean, which is the most important thing.
