Rapid Shock 500g

These non-stabilised chlorine granules are ideal for commissioning new spas or regular oxidisation/shock dosing or hot tubs and above ground pools.

Swimming Pool Application Instructions

1. Maintain pH levels within the ideal range 7.2-7.6 and free chlorine residuals between 1-3mg/l (ppm). If the levels are not in this range, adjust.
2. Shock or oxidising procedures are recommended either weekly or fortnightly with a maximum 10mg/l (ppm) of free chlorine for a full shock treatment.
3. If the water temperature is 20°C or higher and water depth at least 4ft deep, this product can be carefully broadcast directly over the pool surface. Always check the wind direction before broadcasting. Alternatively, pre-dissolve this product in a clean plastic container at a maximum rate of 100g of product in 2.2 gallons (10 litres) of warm water. Stir well to ensure the product is fully dissolved. Add the resulting solution to the pool whilst the pump(s) are turned 'on', preferably near the water inlets to aid distribution.
4. Repeat dose/application if necessary to achieve the desired level.
5. After using this product pool water may become temporarily cloudy, so keep the filtration pump running until it clears.
6. Allow the chlorine level to drop below 5 mg/l (ppm) before bathing recommences, and in any event, wait for at least 30 minutes before bathing recommences.

Swimming Pool Dose Rates 

To raise levels by 1mg/l (ppm) use 7g per 1000 gallons (4546 litres)

To raise levels by 5mg/l (ppm) (regular shock) use 33g per 1000 gallons (4546 litres)

To Raise levels by 10mg/l (ppm) (problem-solving) use 67g 1000 gallons (4546 litres)

Hot Tub Application Instruction

1. Maintain pH levels within the ideal range 7.2-7.6. If the levels are not in this range, adjust.
2. Maintain free chlorine or bromine residuals with the range 3-5mg/l (ppm). *Freshly filled new spas or spas left drained for a period of time require an initial start-up dose of 50mg/l (ppm) of free chlorine circulated for a minimum of an hour.
3. This product can be carefully broadcast directly over spa water surface. If in doubt, pre-dissolve this product in a clean plastic container at a maximum rate of 10g of product per 0.2 gallons (1 litre) of clean warm water. Stir well to ensure the product is fully dissolved. Carefully add the resulting solution to the spa with the spa pump(s) turned on.
4. After using this product, spa water may become temporarily cloudy, so keep the filtration running until it clears.
5. All the free chlorine or bromine levels to drop to 5mg/l (ppm) or below before spa use resumes.

Hot Tub Dose Rates

To raise levels by 5mg/l (ppm) use 7g per 220 gallons (1000 litres)

To Raise levels by 10mg/l (ppm) use 15g per 220 gallons (1000 litres)

To Raise levels by 20mg/l (ppm) use 29g per 220 gallons (1000 litres)

Start-Up Commissioning - 50mg/l (ppm) use 74g per 220 gallons (1000 litres)

General Precautions - Dosing

Never mix with other chemicals in the skimmer basket, including household cleaners etc. as a dangerous reaction may occur.

Handling/Storage - IMPORTANT-

• Handle products in a well-ventilated area - preferably outdoors.
• Wash hands after use.
• Ensure chemicals do not become damp in storage - store in a cool, dry place.
