About the Inverter Pump Silence 1.5HP
The Inverter Pump Silence is made by Aquagem, who build some of the best-known inverter pool pumps on the market. As the name suggests, the selling point here is noise, or the lack of it. At low speed Aquagem measure it at just 33 dB(A) from a metre away, which is about as loud as a quiet bedroom at night.
That comes from what Aquagem call InverSilence technology: a full inverter drive paired with an IE4 brushless DC motor. The speed can be set anywhere from 30% to 120%, and for normal filtration you run it slow and steady. That's when it's quietest and cheapest to run.
The touch controller gives you two ways to work. In Auto Inverter mode you set the flow rate you want and the pump adjusts itself to hold it. In Manual mode you set the speed as a percentage. There's a live power reading, one-touch backwash and built-in Wi-Fi.
For anyone running pool automation, there's optional RS485 Modbus, digital inputs and a relay output. The motor soft-starts to protect itself, it's IP55 rated, and Aquagem say it's suitable for sea water pools.

Warranty
The Inverter Pump Silence comes with a 3 year warranty on the wet end, 2 years on the motor and 1 year on the mechanical seal. The pump must be installed by a qualified person and wired by an electrician through a 30mA RCD, and damage from dry running or frost isn't covered.

How quiet is the Inverter Pump Silence?
Aquagem measure it at 33 dB(A) at 1 m when it's running at low speed. That's quieter than a fridge. It gets louder at full speed, during a backwash for example, but most of the time it will be ticking over quietly.

What's the difference between Auto and Manual mode?
In Manual mode you set the speed from 30% to 120%. In Auto mode you set the flow rate you want and the pump keeps adjusting its speed to hold it, even as your filter gets dirtier.

How much energy will it save?
It depends on how you run it. Aquagem's own comparison, against a 1.5 kW single speed pump, shows yearly energy use dropping from 8,760 kWh to 584 kWh. Your figures will depend on your pool and run times, but the principle holds: slower for longer costs far less.

Can I control it from my phone?
Yes, Wi-Fi is built in, so you can adjust it from an app as well as from the touch panel on the pump.

Is it suitable for a salt or sea water pool?
Yes, Aquagem state it's suitable for sea water pools, so a salt chlorinated pool is no problem.
