What is Granular Shock?
Blue Horizons Granular Shock is a strong chlorine treatment used to raise chlorine levels in swimming pools. It's commonly used as a shock treatment to remove contaminants, destroy bacteria and restore water clarity.
Regular shock treatments helps break down chloramines also known as combined chlorine, which are often the reason pools smell heavily of chlorine, and can cause eye irritation.
Why Use Granular Shock in my Swimming Pool?
Even well maintained pools can build up contaminants from swimmers, weather conditions and organic debris. Over time, this reduces chlorine efficiently and can lead to cloudy water, algae growth and unpleasant odours.
Using Blue Horizons Granular Shock helps to:
- Destroy bacteria
- Break down chloramines
- Clear cloudy water
- Helps prevent algae growth
- Boost chlorine levels quickly
- Keep pool water balanced
Routine shock treatment are recommended weekely, or fortnightly, especially in periods where the pool is in busy use.
