Do I need planning permission? 

In most cases, you do not need planning permission to build a DIY swimming pool. However, you may need to contact your planning office if you are living in:

• an area of outstanding natural beauty
• conservation area
• green belt
• a listed building

Tips for Building a Swimming Pool: 

• carefully consider where you would like your pool location to be, as once installed it will be a very expensive option to move again. Sit down and draw up a plan of your garden, ensure you have the right space and size. Keep away from trees or shaded areas and ensure no electric cables, water or gas pipes run across the proposed site. Don't forget to figure out where you'd like your plant room based, and consider it will need to all be on level ground to your swimming pool.
• Whilst we can provide you with all the pool basics such as liner, covers, plumbing and maintenance consider the other items you will require for construction such as industrial vacuum cleaners and grinders, for only a few more £££ we can recommend a professional pool builder for you so that you don't have to worry. Most items once installed won't have a valid warranty, so if something goes wrong or breaks it may be more costly and time consuming than you 1st expected.
