Using Hot Tub Chlorine Granules

Keep your spa clean and free of bacteria or other contaminants with our hot tub chlorine granules. Fast-acting and easy-to-use, stabilised chlorine granules are a key ingredient in the health and happiness of your hot tub. Chlorine granules dissolve more rapidly than tablets, so they’re a good option if you want to bring your chlorine levels up quickly and get back to an effective level of sanitisation.

The granules can be added directly to your hot tub if the temperature is above 20°C. If the temperature is below this or you’re in doubt, you can pre-dissolve the granules in a clean bucket of water rather than adding them directly to your water. When doing so, always add chlorine granules to water rather than adding water to them. Ensure your pump is running after application so that the chemicals can be distributed throughout the entire system.

Before use, you must also test your water to establish the current chemical reading. The ideal chlorine range for hot tub water is 3 to 5 ppm.

Why Use Stabilised Chlorine Granules?

The hot tub chlorine granules are stabilised, which means they contain cyanuric acid. This acts as a stabiliser to prevent chlorine loss from sunlight. UV rays can break down chlorine more rapidly, rendering it ineffective and unable to sanitise your water. Using stabilised chlorine granules means you won’t have to add a separate stabiliser.

Hot Tub Chlorine Granules Dosage

You can use 2g of granules to raise chlorine levels by 1 ppm in 1000 litres (220 gallons) of water. Also remain mindful of the appropriate safety precautions when using the granules – i.e. wearing PPE and handling them in a well-ventilated area.
