About the Hayward Super Pump
The Hayward Super Pump has been fitted to pools all over the world for years, and it's still one of the pumps installers trust most. It's quiet, it primes itself quickly and it just keeps going.
Inside, the impeller is made from Noryl, a tough engineering plastic that keeps its shape and performance over time. The seal is a heat-resistant, double-sized ceramic seal, and the housing is built to resist chemical and salt corrosion in normal use, so it's a good fit for salt chlorinated pools.
Maintenance is easy. The see-through strainer lid releases quickly, and the 1.8 litre basket holds a decent amount of leaves before it needs emptying. The motor is closed and fan ventilated, rated IPX5, and Hayward have had the pump tested and certified by TÜV Rheinland.
Choose from 0.75HP to 2HP in single phase, or 1HP to 2HP in three phase.

Warranty
Hayward cover the Super Pump with a 2 year manufacturer's warranty. To keep it valid the pump must be installed properly, wired by an electrician and never run dry or left to freeze. If you have an issue, contact us and we'll deal with Hayward for you.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Hayward Super Pump noisy?
No, low noise is one of the things it's known for. Mount it on a solid, level base, ideally with an anti-vibration pad, and support the pipework so it isn't hanging off the pump. That keeps it quiet.
Can I use the Super Pump on a salt water pool?
Yes. Hayward state the housing resists chemical and salt corrosion in normal use, and it's widely used with salt chlorinators.
What's the difference between the 1.5" and 2" models?
All Super Pumps have 1.5" ports apart from the 2HP single phase model (SP1622XE251), which has 2" ports. If your existing pipework is 1.5" you'll need reducers to fit that one.
Which Super Pump size do I need?
Most average UK domestic pools are well served by the 1HP or 1.5HP. The 2HP is for bigger pools or systems with extra resistance from heating, solar or long pipe runs. Call us with your pool size and we'll check.
How often should I empty the strainer basket?
Check it through the clear lid every few days in the summer and empty it once it's visibly filling up. A full basket cuts the flow and makes the pump work harder.
