Bayrol Nophos Phosphate Remover 1L

Phosphates are one of the main food sources for algae. Even if your chlorine levels are correct, high phosphate levels can encourage algae growth and make your sanitiser work harder than it needs to.

Bayrol Nophos is a highly concentrated phosphate remover that binds with phosphates in the water, allowing your filtration system to remove them. By reducing phosphate levels, it helps create an environment where algae struggle to grow, keeping your water cleaner and reducing the amount of disinfectant needed to maintain healthy water.

Suitable for both preventative maintenance and treating high phosphate levels, Nophos is compatible with all sanitising systems, including chlorine, bromine, saltwater and active oxygen, as well as all types of filtration systems.

Key Features

  • Removes phosphates from pool water
  • Helps prevent algae growth
  • Highly concentrated formula
  • Reduces demand on pool sanitisers
  • Suitable for preventative and curative treatment
  • Works with all pool treatment systems
  • Compatible with all filtration systems
  • Easy liquid application
  • Ideal for maintaining clear, healthy water

Why Remove Phosphates?

Phosphates naturally enter pool water through rain, leaves, dust, pollen, fertilisers and bathers. As phosphate levels increase, algae can multiply more easily. Removing phosphates helps reduce the likelihood of algae outbreaks and allows your chlorine or bromine to work more effectively.

Ideal For

  • Pools with recurring algae problems
  • High phosphate levels
  • Preventative weekly maintenance
  • Outdoor swimming pools
  • All pool sanitising systems
  • All filtration systems

How to Use

High Phosphate Levels (Above 0.1mg/L)

  1. Pour 50ml per 10m³ directly into the skimmer.
  2. Allow the filtration system to run continuously.
  3. Repeat the treatment if necessary.

Weekly Preventative Treatment

  1. With the filtration system running, pour 20ml per 10m³ slowly in front of the return inlets.
  2. Apply preferably in the evening after swimming.

For cartridge or diatomaceous earth filters: Add the product at several points around the pool rather than through the skimmer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are phosphates?

Phosphates are nutrients that enter pool water from rain, leaves, pollen, fertilisers and bathers. They provide a food source for algae.

Will Nophos kill algae?

No. Nophos removes phosphates to help prevent algae growth. If algae are already present, shock chlorinate the pool and use an appropriate algaecide before applying Nophos.

Can I use Nophos every week?

Yes. Weekly dosing helps keep phosphate levels low throughout the swimming season and reduces the chance of algae returning.

Is it suitable for saltwater pools?

Yes. Nophos is compatible with chlorine, bromine, saltwater chlorinators and active oxygen systems.

Will it affect my water balance?

No. Nophos works by binding phosphates so they can be removed by the filter and does not replace normal water balancing or sanitiser testing.
