Our 200 micron solar cover helps keep your above ground pool warmer for longer, while cutting down on water loss and the running costs that come with it. It's shaped to fit both circular and oval pools, sits right on top of the water, and uses the sun to gradually warm things up - so you can get more swimming days out of the season without needing to rely on a pool heater.

How it works:

The bubbled underside soaks up heat from the sun through the day, then helps hold onto that warmth overnight so the pool doesn't cool straight back down. At the same time, having the cover across the surface acts a bit like a lid, slowing down how quickly water evaporates.

Caring for your cover:

It's worth keeping the cover out of direct sunlight when it's not actually on the pool  - folded up somewhere shaded rather than left out at the poolside. Leaving it exposed to strong sun for long periods when it's not in use will shorten its lifespan quicker than normal use would.

What does 200 micron mean on a solar cover?
Micron is just a measure of how thick the cover material is. A 200 micron solar cover is one of our lighter, more affordable options - a great starting point if you want the benefits of a solar cover without spending too much. Thicker covers, like 400 or 500 micron geobubble covers, tend to last a bit longer and hold heat slightly better, but naturally cost more.

Which side of the solar cover goes on the water?
The bubbled side should face down, touching the water. That's the side doing the work of trapping heat. The smoother side faces up.

How long does a 200 micron solar cover last?
That depends a fair bit on how it's stored. Leave it in the sun on the ground when it's not on the pool and it'll degrade quicker. Fold it up and keep it somewhere shaded between uses, and it'll last a good deal longer.
